If you can’t do the time, then don’t do the crime

Richard Heene looks to be a strong contender at this stage for this month’s “crying wimp” award. Before he left this week to begin his wimpy 90 day sentence for pleading guilty to a felony count of “attempting to influence a public servant, he appeared on “Larry King” to try and win the Nation’s sympathy.

His acting could just be medicore enough to win him a spot on a daytime soap opera. It hardly convinced many viewers of his innocence though. At least he did get another crack at his fifteen minutes of fame and this seems to be what this guy is all about.

Now that his wife has come clean and said it was a hoax and his son has said that they were doing it “for a t.v. show”, Heene himself says they are mistaken. According to him his wife is afraid of getting deported to Japan and his son only learned to speak English a few years ago.

Larmier County Sheriff though is having none of it. Shriff Jim Alderden told Larry King that he was shocked that Richard Heene is now protesting, since “the evidence against Mr.Heene and Mayumi at this point is really overwhelming”. The sheriff added that this was an elaborate hoax perpetrated by both of them.

Sadly, there is probably some television station out there who will hire this guy when he gets out of jail. Fortunately, viewers can “vote with their remote” and take his face off the screen. His children are not so lucky in their choice of a “role model”.
