Police charge 2 in the slaying of Maryland State Trooper

Trooper Wesley Brown was shot to death outside of a Maryland Applebees last Friday night. Police have now charged two suspects with the murder. One of the suspects was put out of the restaurant earlier in the night (over an unpaid bill) by the Trooper who was moonlighting as a security guard for the restaurant in his off hours.

The suspects are Cyril Williams (who was caught on camera being escorted out of the restaurant by Trooper Brown)and Anthony Milton. Both have prior criminal records.

Williams was charged in 2006 with attemting to murder a Prince George’s County police officer. Williams fired on the Police Officer in his patrol car and kept firing after the police officer got out to return fire.

The Judicial system let Trooper Brown down when they failed to convict Williams on the attempted murder, but worked out a plea arrangement for a related drug charge. Williams was sentenced to 10 years, but only served 2 and a half.

Had he been convicted of attempted murder of the police officer four years ago, he could have received 80 years and Trooper Brown would probably be alive today.
