Senior Hamas official assassinated in Dubai

When I would try and discuss security concerns with residents of the U.A.E., I would often hear; “there is no place safer, nothing ever happens here”.

Hamas will not be voicing those same sentiments after a senior Hamas offical was assassinated in Dubai last month.

Dubai authorities believe that there were 11 members of the assassination team. They travelled on a mixture of EU Passprts; British, Irish, German and French. Hamas has accused Mossad Intelligence Agency for the death of Mahmud al-Mabhouth on 1/20.10.

It would seem that Dubai’s Police Chief,General Tamim, is not one of the “nothing-bad-ever-happens-in-Dubai” believers. He was quoted as saying; “Hamas didn’t tell us who he was. He was walking around alone. If he was such an important leader, why didn’t he have people escorting him?”

Why indeed General.
