U.S. Hospitals Killing Thousands of Patients a Year.

There is constant reporting about the proposed health care plan in the news every day. It seems to be dragging on forever. When WTOP radio recently reported on the thousands of accidental deaths happening in U.S. hospitals every year, I decided to look deeper.

The article by Medicinenet.com is nothing short of incredible. The article gives pointers on how to survive a trip to the hospital…a virtual survivor’s guide to hospitalization.

How many of you knew that on average, 195,000 patients are killed in U.S. hospitals every year? Repeat; U.S. Hospitals – not third world hospitals, not hospitals in the African bush or the Mexican mountains.

Why is nobody outraged by this? It is tragic everytime we here of soldiers being killed in Iraq and those numbers are usually around three or four a day. Right here in this country, an average of 534 innocent people are killed in hospitals everyday. Statistics show that medication errors occur in one out of every 5 doses.

Should Congress not be holding hearings about this? Is there no way to stop people being killed by “friendly physicians”?
