Wise words from Ted Leonsis, new owner of the Washington Wizards

Ted Leonis shared very sage advice today during his first address as the majority owner of the Washington Wizards.

What one needs to remember about Mr. Leonsis is that he is not just the owner of professional sports teams like the Wizards and the Caps, but he is a very successful businessman. AOL and film production are but two of his other successful interests.

Hence the reason why we should listen when he speaks. For instance, Mr. Leonsis advised the gathered Press that when it comes to trusting people, his motto is; “Trust, Embrace, but Verify”.

He also reminded us that he is “no sap” and “you have to do Due Diligence”. That is a message that is near and dear to my heart. Whether you are trying to decide on the right bodyguard school, or how to find an honest P.I., you have to conduct your own due diligence.

Speaking about reality, Mr. Leonsis stated; “Reality is reality. Perception is not reality”. Our school children would do well to remember this. Much in today’s society is not true reality. Perception can be deceiving.
